style for the cold

It's that time of year when the weather is getting colder and the teens are getting depressed. But whether you like the whether or not you probably don't want to freeze out there. It's a little bit harder to style for the cold because you can't just wear shorts and a tank top all the time. Here are some tips to help you out:

1. LAYERING!

Layering is the absolute KEY to styling in the winter. It keeps you comfortable and establishes a twist on any piece of clothing at all. It's a great way to keep your outfits diverse and far from boring. Classic (but gorgeous!) layering would require basics. I recommend having some kind of a long-sleeve white shirt, a white turtleneck, and something in black or gray as well in your closet. Patterns are also super fun to play with in your outfits. Leopard print (which is really trending right now) and stripes are a great way to add some color and change up your look.

2. Shoes

Shoes are a great way to add dimension and personality to your outfits. Plain white sneakers are a great simple way to go. These babies keep your outfit simple but still add so much to your look. If you're cool with standing out a little and looking edgier, doc martens are everything! They are perfect for the winter/fall seasons and can go with so many outfits it's crazy.

3. Dresses and Skirts

Just because it's getting colder doesn't mean you have to put away those skirts and dresses and never look at them again! You can still wear them with the previous tip of layering. Wearing them on top of white long sleeves or just with sweaters is so great. But, do keep in mind if it's snowing, I don't recommend it. But I do recommend wearing them with doc martens in this cold season.

These are the rules/tips I live by in the colder seasons of the year and they really can add to everyone's wardrobe.
